• Because I have been a user of EFnet since late '98
• Because I remember the reason I first joined EFnet
• Because there are many more reasons to join now, to talk about anything from webdev to sysadmin to politics
• Because I remember when madmax ran irc.ins.net.uk on EFnet
• Because there are many UK EFnet users
• Because the future of efnet mattered once
• Because EFnet still matters to the EFnet voting administrators
• Because in 2004 I sent out IRC proposals to UK ISPs seeking sponsorship
• Because it is better than efnet.cjb.net
• Because I made this neat EFnet logo in 2005
• Because I didn't buy efnet.net from jafo in 2005
• Because efnet.co.uk was taken by Z-Wing and didn't register it when it expired in 2006
• Because jafo passed away in 2007
• Because this is sponsored by Phurix Web Hosting
• Because efnet.demon.co.uk and hub.uk delinked
• Because thanks go to Demon Internet who sponsored it and JamesOff who ran it
• Because Demon hasn't officially annouced it and still list the server on their site
• Because EFnet needs a new sponsor for a UK IRC server
